Parc Cristal is a 4 story, 6 unit condominium building. Tatley-Grund was contacted by the homeowner to investigate why water was getting into the unit, saturating the carpet by a sliding glass door leading to an exterior deck. Technicians performed multiple water tests on the deck, just outside the sliding glass door. TG was able to confirm that when water got between the existing topping slab on the deck and the structural slab below, it was able to pass to the interior through a breach in the waterproofing detail along the base of the wall. Tracer dye was used to confirm deficiencies in the building envelope.
Owner: Private Residence
Contract Value: < $1,500
A report was generated based on our findings along with repair recommendations. This was presented to the unit owner and after further discussions about our repair recommendations, she requested Tatley-Grund provide her with a proposal to repair the deficiencies that was allowing water into her unit. Now familiar with the project and the specific issues, a proposal to repair was provided and Tatley-Grund was selected to repair the deck. No further water has been observed at the interior of the unit since Tatley-Grunds investigation and subsequent repair.
